GLS Audio speaker cables are manufactured with the highest grade materials in the industry. The copper wire is rated in AWG spec which stands for "American Wire Gauge". The AWG rating was developed by the USA as a result of some wire manufacturers stating their wire was a certain spec when it really wasn't. You'll notice most imported wire and cable manufacturers will rate their wire in "G" or Gauge (not AWG). The "G" rating can be used for any wire size. For example: A 12G rated cable may only be equivalent to a 18AWG cable (or worse). There are no regulations or specifications on "G" rated cables. How can you determine if a "G" rated cable is the same spec as an AWG cable? Unfortunately, you can't unless you test the power loss per foot. Sometimes the weight may be an indicator. For example: GLS Audio 50ft 12AWG cables weigh about 4lbs whereas most of our competitors weigh about 2.5lbs. This may be a result of the copper wire gauge not being true AWG.

I wanted the best components, and these, to my ears, are the best audio cables I have ever used. I've previously used 3 feet cables with smaller gauge in the hopes that they would offer up the signal this one is capable of carrying. They cannot. You will not believe how large, sturdy and of what quality these 6 feet cables can transmit. EDIT: I just bought my 3rd one because they're just that good. Did I mention my brother bought one after hearing mine? These cables are amazing. Just today, I added a set of Polk Audio Atrium 4 speakers to the system in order to pipe sound (satellite TV/DVD/CD)to an arbor swing located about 50 feet from the back of my house. I must say, I am impressed. The Polk Audio Atrium 4s sound every bit as good as the Bose speakers (if not better), and the quality of their construction appears outstanding. As this is the the set which will be most exposed to the elements, I was encouraged by the excellent "weatherproof" specifications and the fit and finish of the Atrium 4s. Only time will tell if they hold up as well as the outdoor speakers I now have, but at a price about $100 cheaper than the least expensive Bose outdoor... These Polks, hanging under my open carport, have survived their first winter. I cranked 'em up this weekend to test my new Onkyo CD player, and they were THUMPIN'. The price was good and the quality is great. The supplied brackets made hanging them a snap. Mount them with the rears facing something solid to get the best bass.
